NIELDS ACADEMY · SLAITHWAITE

A garden grown by everyone.

Tucked behind Nields Academy, our community garden is open to anyone in Slaithwaite and the wider Colne Valley. Drop in to plant, potter, or just sit in the sun.

Volunteers and families with a wheelbarrow

A working garden, a quiet welcome, and a kettle that's always on.

Open to all

Children, parents, neighbours, retirees, first-time growers and seasoned hands. No experience needed — just bring a coat.

Rooted at school

The garden lives on Nields Academy grounds, so children grow up watching things grow — and their families come along for the ride.

Quietly growing

Started in 2022 with just an idea, we're a growing community of friendly people — and the odd squirrel!

Funded by you

Every spade, packet of seed and bag of compost comes from neighbours, members, and our small but mighty donor list.

Every Saturday · 9am – 12pm

Come along and join in.

Plant a row of beans. Build a bug hotel. Sow next month's salad. Pull up a chair and watch others do it. Whatever you fancy — the gate is open and the kettle is on.
